Old-school mountain bikes can take lots of tire widths and treads with plenty of room for fenders, racks and more. So while you can use them for moderate trail riding, they're also great for getting to work or just generally getting around.

This one has the low rear brake of the 1986-88 Cunningham-inspired fad. MTBs of that era are long and sedate-handling, yet also with an upright rider position rather than stretched out. We enhanced that with a high handlebar, and simplified it with a single-speed drivetrain and street tires for around-town duty.
